Bio
Gabriel Angrand, Gabe for short, is a pastor's kid born in Massachusetts and raised in Ohio. However, Philly became home for him in 2013. At the University of Pennsylvania, he completed degrees in Chemistry and Education and went on to continue a career in academic coaching, tutoring, and peer support.
In all of his accomplishments, Gabe fully recognizes that he didn't get where he is by himself. Second only to God's direction, he recognizes the kindness, favor, and mercy he has been shown at every stage of his life.
Currently an Assistant Director at Haverford College and supervisor of their Peer Tutoring Program, Gabe did not see this specific path in education for himself, but he always knew he found purpose in serving young people, especially high school- to college-age adults.
Seeing this as a calling and words as a gift, he continues to write poetry hoping that young people see themselves in his pieces. Though he's been speaking and performing from a young age, he still gets nervous on stage because every opportunity is an awesome responsibility.
A number of texts help him to stay grounded, but Micah 6:8 is the sum of them all: “He has told you, O man, what is good; and what does the Lord require of you but to do justice, and to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God?”
